Types of Data Processing & the Legal Basis
The following data processing is carried out during the use of our services:
1. Data processing for our mobile games
As you engage with our mobile applications, we may gather certain types of data, such as device identifiers, usage patterns, your IP address, and device information. We assure you that this data collection is performed strictly to the principles of data minimization and anonymization to ensure the highest level of privacy protection.
This information is employed for specific, legitimate purposes. It enables us to streamline and enhance your in-app purchases, making them more secure and efficient. Further, by analyzing usage patterns, we generate valuable insights that assist us in improving the quality and functionality of our apps.
2. Data processing during email correspondence
If you contact us using our contact form (link) or via email and, in this way, voluntarily provide us with your personal data such as title, name, address, and email address, then this data will be processed by us in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and protected accordingly. We consider the voluntary submission of your data to us as consent to process them for the purpose of handling your request. Your data will be processed exclusively for the purpose of our services, and you can contact us at any time for information on data processing. We will delete your data after your questions have been answered.
3. Data processing when using our webshop
If you voluntarily enter your personal data to make orders via our webshop (https://shop.psycatgames.com/), we process this data to handle these orders. We thus fulfill our contractual obligations. After your order has been completed, we will store your data for two years, as you have the right to guarantee (Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights), and we intend to fulfill this right. After the expiration of the two-year period, we only process the data that we are obliged to keep for tax law requirements. This concerns tax-relevant documents such as invoices and business papers. There is a legal obligation to save this data for a period of seven years.
Your necessary customer data has to be shared with fulfillment partners for sending you the ordered products. If you order through our webshop, we also share data with Shopify to process your order. We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement with Shopify. The fulfillment of our contractual obligations is the legal basis for data processing via Shopify. Otherwise, we will not share your information with third parties.
4. Data processing when using our online quizzes and games
When you use our services, you may provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, favorite color, favorite food, etc. This data is primarily stored locally on your device to enhance your user experience and support the functionality of our services.
Our service may necessitate storing this data on our servers in certain instances. For instance, if you share game results or choices with your friends (e.g., the Friendship Quiz), we temporarily store your data to enable this feature.
We retain your data for a brief period of one month after your last interaction with our services. This retention policy helps you to easily return to your gaming experience without losing your progress or preferences. Once this period elapses, your data will be automatically deleted.
